Making Dumplings With The Family For The First Time

Making Dumplings With The Family For The First Time

First of all i have to give thanks to all the 4 other members of my immediate family for making this happen. They all pitched in and contributed to this first time experience for all of us. Hopefully next time the rest of the family joins in on the experience.

This whole idea started when I saw this korean youtuber queen that specializes in cooking. She decided to share with us one of her very special and delicious recipes she used to teach to people in an actual class she gave. Oh boy was I excited and ready to dive into this whole world of dumplings. Oh my god I was too excited that I almost forgot to mention this really famous korean youtuber's channel is Cocinando Corea. Yuna Kim and her husband bring us cooking videos on this channel while teaching us korean in every video all at the same time.

You could tell she is very passionate about teaching cooking in her videos but this recipe was very special to her for so many reasons. And man was I really thrilled she decided to show us her techniques and share a recipe that took her a while to perfect. Thank you so much Queen Yuna Kim because without you and your family this day would not have happened.

So right after breakfast me and the rest of the family decided to go to the grocery store and get our ingredients. We got gyoza wrappers from the freezer section and ground pork since we had the rest of the ingredients at home, or so we thought we did. I will say this if you guys are newbies I would suggest that you guys get 2 packets of the frozen gyoza wrappers. Being newbies we were only able to put a little bit of filling inside in order to be able to close it which meant we finished making the whole packet and there was dumpling filling left over. We ended up having to go to the grocery store again which was no fun but was so worth because i got to eat a couple more. I will admit something though, we decided to ommit the ginger from the recipe. I have a feeling we missed out on some flavor but I loved these dumplings and I think the rest of the family enjoyed it as well. I will definately be making these again and hopefully with more people next time.

Also, do not be afraid to offer these to those picky people in your family because my nephew was so uncertain about trying them at first but ended up eating a couple. He was mostly scared because he had seen me put a lot of onion on the mixture he and my niece mixed. But i am happy we got to make them and eat them together. My mom as expected was the best at making dumplings, my nephew was in second, I was in third, and sadly my dad was in last place. But at the end of this whole mass producing dumplings my nephew got so much better, so mom I suggest you enjoy this win cause next time you have a very competetive rival planning to take the crown.
